Last week I sent out a SOS on our social channels! I’ve found alcohol likes me less and less as I transition through my menopause journey.

And, although everyone should make their own decision on this as on every protocol and practice we explore as a community, I’m also very aware of the impact alcohol has on our collective healthspan and the challenges it presents particularly to our over-stressed bodies in midlife.

My ask? Tell me the non alcoholic tipples you turn to on summer days. And, as always, the feedback was glorious, at times hilarious too! - and we’ve summarised it all into a handy top 5 so you can explore, experiment - and let me know your feedback!

1.

Wild Eve: Wild Eve is a multiple award winning, organic, vegan, whole plant adult alcohol-free spirit. It’s made sustainably in artisanal batches in Harris and blended with one of our favourite herbs, Ashwagandha too. Members of our community love it as a spirit-lifting mixer.

2.

Mother Root London: Mother Root takes switchels to a whole new level with a complex recipe that blends apple cider vinegar with blossom honey, ginger and more.

3.

Everleaf Aperitifs: With three recipes to choose from, Everleaf is the brainchild of a conservation biologist, turned bartender, turned innovator. His complex recipes reflect his love of mother nature - from Mountain, with cherry blossom, strawberry and bittersweet rosehip. Forest, with saffron, vanilla and honeyed orange blossom and Marine, with kelp, zesty bergamot and tropical sea buckthorn to explore.

4.

Lucky Saint: A go to for many of us and appreciated for its less gassy recipe when compared to some of the other non-alcoholic beers available.

5.

Kylie Minogue wines: at launch, Kylie Minogue’s wine label was met with a fair bit of scepticism but she appears to have won many critics over with fairly priced, decent wines. Her first non alcoholic offering had passed me by but many in our community love it. I will definitely be trying this as I long for a non-alcoholic wine that doesn’t taste like Schloer (although, who doesn’t love feeling like a teenager again?!).

I hope the above tips lead to some truly delicious discoveries.
