Hormone Replacement Therapy: What You Need to Know
HRT Roundtable: The myths, the science and the supporting interventions that can power your toolkit for a healthy body and mind.
31st October 2024, 7.30pm GMT. On Zoom
Why attend:
Confused about whether HRT is ‘safe’ for you? Looking for a balanced, science-based view? Looking to understand what other principles and practices can make a difference to your body and mind in midlife too? This annual roundtable is a huge favourite in our community. Back for its third year, we’ll be unpicking the myths, sharing the insights and, above all, providing you with the confidence to take agency for how you choose to navigate Part 2.
What to expect:
Our annual HRT roundtable is back for its third year! Listen to leading menopause specialist Dr Thomas of Myla Health and LIMINAL’s resident science lead and naturopath Dr Martins debunk the myths, unmuddle the protocols and discuss how the principles of naturopathy can not only optimise HRT efficacy but address other symptoms too.
Before you attend:
Although we can not provide personal medical or naturopathic advice in our Masterclasses (it simply wouldn’t be safe for you), we will be inviting our community to submit questions about HRT and lifestyle interventions that work. Please follow us @live_liminal and keep an eye out for posts and polls.
What you will leave with.
Up to date British Menopause Society approved advice on HRT, its risk profile and its benefits and practical advice on the supporting lifestyle and complementary practices that can further optimise its efficacy and your menopause journey.
About our speaker:
Dr Thomas: Dr Lindsey Thomas is an experienced GP with a specialist interest in menopause and women’s health and a favourite speaker in LIMINAL's Meno.Well Masterclass programme.
She has the British Menopause Society advanced certificate, making her one of only 240 registered specialists in the UK. She has a background in education and is a menopause trainer with both the British Menopause Society and the Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health. She practises with Myla Health as well as the NHS.
Dr Martins: Vera is a Naturopath and Herbalist with a PhD in Biology, and a Lifestyle Medicine Certified practitioner. Put simply, she is a scientist who fell in love with natural health! - and today she practises as a naturopath specialising in female health alongside medical practitioners and clinics, as well as part of LIMINAL's expert team too.
Vera has extensive experience in supporting women balancing their hormones and optimising their health during perimenopause and menopause, including those on HRT.
Whether it’s supporting your gut health, managing stress, sleeping better, achieving & maintaining a healthy weight, having more energy, or simply just getting back that sense of ”feeling like yourself”, Vera's deep experience will support you every step of the way.
Vera truly believes that the menopause can be a very transformative and invigorating stage of a woman's life, but as such it calls for a revaluation of nutritional and lifestyle habits. Naturopathy, with its 360-degree approach to health, can be a key tool in supporting the body and mind in this journey.
